Bem vindo ao Brasil!

I have keep this page up because it was the first page I created when I moved to Rio de Janeiro.   The people and culture have shaped my reality of making business and appreciating life in Brasil.

The World Cup was a wonderful opportunity that opened the doors for thousands of foreigners.

Though, investing in Brasil is a complicated process.  One that requires a trusted professional to guide you through. This is not easy to find for foreigners, as there are many pitfalls if you go it alone.

I am a foreign investment consultant with a ton of experience and many closed deals in Rio de janeiro. I know how to get things done here. This is very important when you are thinking to invest hundreds of thousands of dollars.

The city of Rio de Janeiro is situated on the south-east coast of Brasil, at the inlet of Guanabara bay.  Surrounded by plush green mountains with the Christ the Redeemer statue embracing the city on one side and the aqua blue crashing waves from the warm southern Atlantic Ocean on the other.

Majestic

However famous for it’s vibrating samba in the Rio Carnival celebration every February/March, which is often associated with free spirited fun and dancing until the sun rises.

The city has a lot more to offer with its wealth of culture, nature, business opportunity and friendly spirit.   There is something here for everyone!

Copacabana beach

Over 50 kilometers of white sandy paradise beaches ready to be explored by sunbathers, families, surfers and more.

Copacabana beach is the worlds most famous beach and considered by most; Rio for beginners.

The largest Urban Jungle in the world (22 sq/km) integrated into a wondrous mountain range offering a wide variety of outdoor activities.

A true “Carioca”  (Person of Rio) experience is here for you.

DISCOVER   BRASIL

AIB is here to honestly inform you on the history, opportunity and reality of Brasil.
Discovered by Portuguese explorers 10 years after the discovery of North America.
January 1st 1502 Gaspar de Limos captain on Pedro Alvarez Cabral’s fleet encountered Gaunabara Bay for the first time.  Thinking it was a river they named it Rio de Janeiro (river of January). 430 years later the name is unchanged and Rio is the unofficial capital and spirit of Brasil.
Similar to the States the capital was moved a couple times. First in Salvador Bahia for close to 200 years then after the discovery of gold and diamonds in Minas Gerais, Rio became the logical port city to export.  Making Rio de janeiro more important and thus became the capital in 1763 where it stayed for another 200 years.  Then in the 60’s politicians spent 50 billion moving the capital to the futuristic city of Brasilia for debatable reasons.
The political climate of the last 100 years has been all over the place with their currency changing many different times creating much unrest and distrust in the country’s financial system.
Though, during the past 16 years Brazil has made the right decisions and moves, now is enjoying an emergence as the much needed Rising Star in the World.

Brasil has an American history, people came here from all over world to find freedom and a better way of life.  Today this same thing is happening, I meet people everyday visiting Rio from Europe and North America amazed at the difference in reality versus what they hear.  This is the new land of opportunity and should be taken serious by all that can afford to diversify their holdings.

A short drive West down the coast, outside the hustle and bustle of downtown Rio and the Copacabana stretch there exist many great opportunities including ocean front properties.

Large sprawling condominiums with a positive economic future are abundant.

  5. Clearly your open minded and receptive to other ideas. Many people in the online community are a little more totalitarian. added to my socialbookmark 😀 Of course– and I probably shouldn’t even have to say this– people are free to run their own blogs as they see fit. But I get the highest value from blogs where either the author’s writing is so outstanding that the lack of comments isn’t material a combination of good writing and good comments

  18. Mark,

I hate to ask you how you are doing since I know you are doing better than me at this time. I saw your posting on CL today and then came to your website. Nice site, good info and I am interested in seeing how I could be part of the team.

A little background on me: I have been going to Brazil since 2000 and just this year bought me an apartment in Rio, near Tijuca. That was a dream of mine for sometime now as I made up my mind 6 years ago I wanted to move to Brasil in the near future. I am back in the US now as I am working on my immigration issue and yes, I am aware of the 3 ways to resolve it if you are not retire- marriage, child, or investors visa. Like I said, I am looking at my options.

So when is a good time to call you?? I would be very interested in hearing what your plans are and well I have a number of ideas, but it is a question of which one (amongst several factors) to get it going.

You know, since I went to Brasil in 2000, beyond the fascination with the lifestyle, I have always told my friends when asked why do I love it so much there, I would respond that there was so much opportunity. Forget the American dream, I have been on board the Brasilian dream train for some time now!!! The building that you see going on in Barra has been going on for some years now and not just the last 1 or 2. The Copa and Olympics have just recently propelled Brasil into the limelight, but the building of housing is something I have always seen going on, just more of it now.

I have stayed in Leme, Gloria, Flamengo, and the last few years in Estacio, near the city hall buiding and the Sambadrome. Despite what you hear about the dangers, as long as you are careful (and knowing the locals helps great) I really feel you will be ok, even if you do get robbed. Which by the way I never have in RJ, only in Bahia once!!! By the way, Rocinha is not the only favela you could do tours in. I will discuss this more with you later.

Fortunately I do now speak Portuguese fluently and already spoke Spanish. This fact plus only hanging out with local Brasilians in RJ (I personally avoid Ipanema/Leblon-to me the heart of RJ is in other places, but everyone has their opinions) has given me prespective and experience of RJ that few gringos can enjoy. Let’s change that!!!!

Ok, let me know when I can call. I would love to catch up with you and see how we could work together!! I should be back down in December or January (I was just there for 3 months this past May/June/July).

Talk to you soon I hope, ate mais tarde, sorte e um forte abraco meu novo amigo,

    Brian in Texas….
